³⁹ Nicodemus, who had first come to Jesus at night, also came, bringing with him a mixture of myrrh and aloes weighing about one hundred pounds.^{[a] 40} They took the body of Jesus and wrapped it with the spices in linen cloths, in accordance with the burial custom of the Jews.

⁴¹ At the place where Jesus had been crucified there was a garden, and in that garden there was a new tomb in which no one had ever been buried.
